Painting in the Barrel's Spines
All members of this genus, Barrel Cactus, have prominent ribs and are fiercely armed with heavy thorns called spines. I have been painting these into the composition.
This painting is still a work in progress, so check back to see the stamen and pistils go into the flower next.
